Early intervention and preventative work is our main aim.
Our Youth Support team can work in collaboration with Dundee based schools or other organisations who may have groups of young people aged 12-25, in need of additional support particularly in the areas of low self esteem, relationships and/ or emotional well being.
We have recently been accepted onto the Dundee City Council Framework Agreement for the Provision of Support Services – Children and Families. This means that Dundee City Council schools and organisations can access our one-to-one listening support and group work.
Young people can be referred to our support team if there are concerns about:
- Unexpected pregnancy
- Post termination or miscarriage
- Low self-esteem
- Friendships or relationships
- Emotional Wellbeing
We receive referrals for our 1:1 work from; third sector organisations, Schools, Local Authority workers, GPs, NHS staff, local youth groups and the Police.
Organisations we have worked in partnership include:
- Home start
- Dundee Young Carers
- The HELM
- The Attic
- Menzieshill Community Centre
- LinkUp Community Centre
- Dundee and Angus College
If at any time we feel we are not the right service for a group or young person, we would discuss this with those involved and signpost to other support services.
